“I FIND IT’S THE SIMPLE THINGS THAT REMIND YOU OF FAMILY AROUND THE HOLIDAYS” – AMY ADAMS
Can you believe that Thanksgiving and Christmas are only a few short weeks away!? The Holidays are my favorite time of year! Growing up in Orlando, the entire city transformed into Christmas-town the night after Halloween. For weeks, I would visit all the parks and attractions to celebrate Christmas around the world, snag photos with my favorite characters, and one year, I attended the world premiere of N*Sync’s classic “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!”
This obviously means that I am one of those “early Christmas” people, but I try and stick to decorating my DVR and my spotify playlists instead of the halls. Hallmark movies and Classic Holiday tunes set the tone for holiday spirit! But before we skip sraight to Christmas, let’s talk about Turkey Day! To me, Thanksgiving is a special holiday all its own, and should be celebrated all November long. From hosting friends to cooking for family, setting a beautiful table and making your house feel like home, November is the true start of the holiday season!
However, when it comes to shopping for the home at the holidays, it is NEVER too soon!!! I have already had my eye on so many festive holiday pieces, I couldn’t help but share!
To make entertaining easier this holiday, I pulled together some entertaining tips + tricks, and my top picks for home decor!
+ Use ornaments neatly displayed in a bowl to bring about a sense of seasonal decor, without having to put up the tree before Thanksgiving.
+ Fall colors typically include Reds, Oranges, and Yellows. You can bring out your red linens before Christmastime to get more use out of them during November!
+ At the Mod Pod, Balsam and Fir scented candles help bring the cool and cozy feeling of the holidays indoors. Grab some holiday scents to light in your home!
+ Find a visually pleasing calendar to place in the kitchen, home office, or family room. Use this to organize your trips, wish lists, and seasonal deadlines.
+ Make sure your stemware and dishes are washed and ready for holiday dinners! Invest in ceramic bowls that you can use to toss a salad, fill with rolls, or serve up a second helping of stuffing!
+ Find ornaments during the holidays that can live on your mantel or in styled “moments” around your home year round! I love this ceramic crane we got from the local art museum! It lives on a bookshelf until the holidays and then finds a special spot on our tree!
